The name has not undergone any change – it remains the identical. I didn’t have onions however had red and yellow bell peppers and located it delicious. I do wish you had specified an amount of salt & pepper, to no less than begin from. I added 1tps of ras el hanout spice combine on the end, and it grew to become much more delicious. My all time favorite breakfast for sure. Added a pinch of sugar to the sauce, and feta to the completed dish. Next time I assume I’ll simmer the sauce a little longer to thicken it up a bit.
This was incredibly simple, undeniably delicious, & was a HIT with “The Breakfast Crowd” ! The addition of Feta sends ME excessive w/this dish, as I absolutely LOVE Feta Cheese. Some nice, contemporary & warm PITA loaves, towel wrapped in a basket, accomplished this surprisingly pleasant departure from our typical morning fare. I added more spice than what was referred to as for, and added cayanne, since I like my spice flavor robust. I additionally browned the onions, added a chili pepper and 1/2 cup chicken inventory and simmered it right down to get a richer taste. If you like a non spicy dish this is good with out my additions. I get pleasure from shakshuka at an area restaurant however have at all times needed to make it.

Blending a small portion of the chili makes it look and taste like a chili that has been cooking all morning long, but it only needs about half-hour of simmering. That’s somewhat trick that I learned from my lentil soup, which is one other cozy option for cold days.
